Specialist General Surgeon & Endoscopist - a decade of experience.
Dr Benjamin Scott is a Specialist General Surgeon with a decade of training dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of patients in regional Australia. Dr Scott grew up in the Hunter Valley and then travelled to Victoria to pursue his medical studies. He completed his Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons across major regional hospitals in Geelong, Ballarat, Warrnambool, Colac and Hamilton. He advanced his surgical expertise with a Fellowship in Northern NSW where he served the communities of Lismore, Ballina and Casino.
Dr. Scott’s understanding of the unique needs of people in non-metropolitan areas has driven his active involvement in the Rural Surgical Section of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, where he contributes to policies that support patients and healthcare professionals. His commitment to the field has been recognised with the Geoffrey Royal Prize for Surgery and his nomination for the prestigious John Corboy Medal during training.
Dr. Scott provides an extensive range of surgical procedures including gallbladder surgery, hernia repairs (groin and abdominal), colonic resections, varicose vein treatment, carpal tunnel surgery, skin cancer surgery and endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy and gastroscopy).
He prioritises minimally invasive techniques to reduce recovery time and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Scott is committed to clear and compassionate communication, taking the time to discuss each procedure thoroughly with patients and their families both before and after surgery. His goal is to ensure that they feel informed and supported throughout this process.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Scott is a devoted husband and father who treasures quality time with his family. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, running, golf and perfecting his baking skills. The beautiful natural landscape of the Manning Valley has drawn Dr. Scott and his family to the area where they are active members of the local community.
