Yes. You will need to see your General Practitioner (GP) who will refer you to see Dr Scott.
Do I need to pay for my consultation at the time of my appointment?
Yes. At the first appointment to see Dr Scott a consultation fee is paid by all patients. This is the amount recommended by the Australian Medical Association to be assessed and treated by a specialist medical practitioner. There is a reduced fee at subsequent appointments. This depends on the type of surgery and the setting in which it is performed. In the public hospital the cost of the surgery is covered by Medicare and there are generally no out of pocket costs. In the private hospital there may be a gap for certain procedures. Dr Scott will discuss any costs prior to booking your procedure.
There may be other costs associated with the care you receive while in hospital including anaesthetic care, allied health and the hospital bed.
Does Dr Scott Bulk Bill?
